I think the most reliable way is to combine below two ways. 1. Burning Test:
The main ingredient of silkis protein, when you burning the silk, you can smell the odd flavor like burning hair. But blended silk fabric also have this smell. So it can't tell you whether it is 100% mulberry silk. You need to use the second way - Bleach Test.
2. Bleach Test: Silk can be totally dissolved in strong bleach, other material like poly and cotton can’t. Some fabric material also can be dissolved in strong bleach, but they don’t have the burning hair smell. So you need to combine this two methods.
